It is always exciting to see a beautiful couple on their wedding day, and even more exciting when their photos are captured through the lens of talented wedding photographer Joshua Dwain.  Kimani, whose has a cultural blend of Dominica and Jamaica and Kevin, who is American were introduced to each other by Kevin’s best friend, who thought they would make a great match.  They spoke on the phone for a couple of weeks and decided to meet up in person.  It was love! The Proposal

We would like to share another fabulous wedding shoot from one of our favorite photogs Femi Osinowo (Paosin).  The wedding took place at the Legion Hall, Towson, Maryland.  We loved many aspects of this wedding; the bride in her figure flattering mermaid dress, the groomsmen playing golf was classic, and the photo menu card.  Enjoy!

Today we bring you the story of a beautiful bride Feven and her groom Petros, both Eritrean.  These two lovebirds (that happen to be nurses) met in primary school when a mischievious Petros threw a rock at his would be bride’s younger sister.  After many years went by, the two reunited at a conference at Petros’ university and the rest was history.  Both born in the United States the couple struggled to win over their parents consent for a “fusion wedding”  blending their African heritage traditions with the American modern wedding traditions.  In the end, the couple went for a small, intimate wedding as you’ll see in their amazing album.

Real San Diego Wedding

We are excited to share photos from Tope and Kenny’s fabulous San Diego wedding with you today. This cute couple had nothing but the best touches for their big day. Check out the beautiful bride in her lovely dress by Vera Wang. Their limo, a vintate 1929 Franklin gave the old world/romantic vibe that they wanted. The outdoor ceremony was held on the South Lawn at Marina Village in Mission Bay, San Diego and the reception was held at the same location in the Captain’s room.

Real Atlanta Wedding:

Both from Tanzania, Judith and Albert were engaged at the place where they first met –the Riverside Recreational Park, Atlanta, GA. Albert had asked Judith to accompany him to the park (stating he wanted to take a picture of a huge tree located there). Upon arriving at the park, Albert dropped to his knees and asked Judith to marry him.  A simple yet beautiful proposal- but the wedding would be far from simple.

On March 19th  2011, the two tied the knot at the Apostles Lutheran Church in Atlanta, GA .  What followed was a lavish, culturally rich and  vibrant reception at The Georgian Club, Atlanta, GA.

Real Atlanta Wedding: Chi Chi + Emeka

We loved Chi-Chi and Emeka’s fabulous wedding celebration. The two met at an African Christian Fellowship while in high school and started off as friends. As the years went by, they grew up, went off to college and lost touch. Years later, they reconnected through Facebook and from Facebook messages to instant messaging to long phone conversations, they soon became inseparable. The rest, as they say, is history.

The couple, both originally from eastern Nigeria, is currently based in Georgia. ChiChi is a Pharmacist while Emeka is a medical student. True friends, Emeka and Chi-Chi thoroughly enjoyed their wedding and look forward to spending each and every day together for the rest of their lives.

Meet this week’s “Pharma”  couple – Omolayo and Oladapo.  The lovely pair hail from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, West Africa.  Both met while attending Howard University’s School of Pharmacy in 2006.

Omolayo had made Dapo promise never to propose to her on her birthday.  So, when Omolayo’s birthday rolled around on March 5th 2010, she had no suspicions. Dapo wined and dined her but rather than drop her back home after the long day, insisted she hang out at
